1. Regarding the Multiparty General Election held on 8 November 2020, the Union Election Commission has inspected the voter lists and the casting of votes in nine townships of Chin State.

2. There were 286,308 eligible voters in nine townships of Chin State and of them, 222,905 voters cast their vote that showed 77.85 per cent. The following 12 parties’ candidates and independent candidates ran in 2020 multiparty general election.

(a) National League for Democracy

(b) Union Solidarity and Development Party

(c) Zomi Congress for Democracy

(d) Chin National League for Democracy

(e) National Unity Party

(f) Union Betterment Party

(g) Zo National Region Development Party

(h) People’s Party

(i) Khumi (Khami) National Party

(j) Ethnic National Development Party

(k) Chin National Party

(l) Democratic Party of National Politics

(m) Independent

3. The Union Election Commission has conducted inspection together with the respective township election sub-commission, head of police force, Immigration and Population, administrators and representatives of parties under Section 53 of the Hluttaw Election Law.

4. According to the inspection, the previous election commission released 286,308 eligible voters in these nine townships of Chin State. The list of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population in November 2020 showed 297,785 eligible voters who had turned 18. The voter lists mentioned that there were 15,580 citizens, associate citizens, naturalized citizens, and non-identity voters, 2,981 persons repeated on the voter lists more than three times, and 34,248 persons repeated on the voter lists two times.

5. According to the inspection, a total of 957 polling stations took out 427,455 ballots and used 218,595. It left 196,673 ballots instead of 208,860. The difference was 16,746 ballots, and it found 4,559 extra ballots. The extra/shortage ballots were found at respective polling stations.

(a) According to Hluttaw Election Law Section 6 (a), citizen, associate citizen, naturalized citizen or holder of temporary certificate who has completed the age of 18 years on the day of commencement of election and who does not contravene the provisions of this Law. There are 15,580 non-identity voters. There were 2,981 persons repeated on the voter lists more than three times and 34,248 persons repeated on the voter lists two times in these nine townships of Chin State.
