Senior General Min Aung Hlaing reaffirmed holding a free and fair multiparty democratic generation election in a meeting with the Lao Ambassador.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr Heuangseng Khamdalavong, Ambassador of Laos to Myanmar, who has completed his tour of duty, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

At the meeting, they exchanged views on the improvement of friendly relations between Myanmar and Laos, bilateral help between the two countries along the history as good neighbours, exchange of goodwill visits, further promotion of cooperation, running of direct flights between the two countries and potentials for promotion of bilateral trade, cooperation in generating electricity, political progress in Myanmar, and preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election.

Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials.
