MALICIOUS news media reported that four civilians – three women and one man – were injured by shelling from security forces on the morning of 28 October in Haka, Chin State. However, these reports have been confirmed as false. According to local security officials, terrorists have been operating villages around Haka Township and frequently target security forces from remote locations. Terrorists have also repeatedly launched attacks with mortars and bombs on civilian residential areas.

In response to tip-offs from civilians opposing the violence, security forces targeted terrorists hiding in these areas, resulting in several terrorist casualties. Local security forces reported that terrorist casualties have risen, public support for them declined, and unverified malicious news media outlets have been spreading misinformation to influence public opinion against security forces.
