A ceremony to mark the completion of gilding Eindawya Pagoda and to offer Waso robes to Members of Sangha was held at the pagoda’s platform on Myoma Road in Dagon Township, Yangon Region yesterday.

The Pagoda’s Ovadacariya Sayadaws, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, Department of Religious Affairs’ Director-General U Myint Oo, Deputy Director-General U Tun Nyunt and officials, and members of the pagoda’s boards of trustees attended the ceremony.

Congregation led by the Union Minister took the Five Precepts from the Pagoda’s Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhandanta Yevara, and Members of Sangha chanted Parritas (protection verses) including Metta Sutta.

The Union Minister, the Director-General, the Deputy Director-General and the members of the pagoda’s board of trustees donated Waso robes and made offertories to the Members of Sangha, and Chairman of the pagoda’s board of trustees Saddhamma Jotika Dhaja Major Myo Min (Ret.) reported religious matters.

The ceremony came to an end after Ovadacariya Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhandanta Mamakabhivamsa delivered a sermon.
