SOME pro-terrorists from KNU, KKO (splinter group), and PDF terrorists yesterday collusively attacked the security forces near the No 2 Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Myawady Township, Kayin State. The coalition group apparently employed heavy weapons, drop bombs and excessive strengths against the security troops. These attacks instilled fear among residents on both sides of the border.

AA terrorists launched heavy weapon shells in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, at around 5:30 pm on 17 April, the first day of the Myanmar New Year, traditionally a time when Buddhist people observe the Sabbath, engage in acts of kindness, and perform charitable deeds. AA terrorists fired from the northeast of the town. shells struck and detonated in No 2 Ward, resulting in the deaths of four civilians, including one male and three females, and injuring eight others, including a 12-year-old child. Security forces transported the injured individuals to the local military hospital for medical treatment.
