UNION Minister Dr Pe Myint of the Ministry of Information stressed the needs to put forward the measures already undertaken, the work still to be done, and additional advice and suggestions where necessary for the celebrations of the Myanmar Motion Picture Centenary and the Yangon University Centenary. Comprehensive discussions should be taken place at the coordinating meetings of the Steering Committee, the Work Committee and relevant sub-committees.

THE Film Development Centre will screen ‘Antichrist” film for analysis in its 37th event of the Cinematheque Programme at its office No. 50, Shwe Taung Gyar Road (Golden Valley Road), Bahan Township, at 12 noon on 1 March. The drama horror film directed by Lars Von Trier won the Cannes Best Actress Award.
The “Antichrist” is about a couple who moved to a cabin in the woods after their toddler accidentally died.
In their cabin, the husband got mysterious visions and the behaviours of his wife became violent.

THE Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued debate in its 13th day meeting yesterday on the articles and sub-articles in the second bill to amend the State Constitution.
MP U Nay Soe Aung from Wuntho constituency discussed the change of Myanmar language wording of ‘the disabled’ in sub-articles (a) and (b) under Article 32 and Article 344. He also suggested to annul Article 338 regarding the command of Defence Services on the armed forces, and Article 339 about the role of Defence Services to lead in safeguarding the Union against all international and external dangers.

THE Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry, in coordination with GIZ Myanmar, introduced the Myanmar Project Bank website yesterday morning.
The launching ceremony of ‘Myanmar Project Bank’ was held at Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw, and Union Minister U Soe Win highlighted 3 Cs (Coordination, Cooperation and Communication) to be able to sustain the project bank.
Country Director of GIZ Myanmar Dr Petra Shill extended greeting and launched the website together with the Union Minister.

MYANMAR Parliamentary Union-MPU held its first meeting in 2020 at the meeting hall of Hluttaw’s Zabuthiri Building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Speaking at the meeting, MPU Chairman, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat, said respective Hluttaws are believed to be implementing the tasks that should be completed in this term.
He added that the MPU became an institution with better coordination among the Region/State Hluttaws and between Union level Hluttaws and Region/State Hluttaws after the Myanmar Parliamentary Union Law was ratified.
