Myanmar generated revenue of US$1.479 million from honey export in 11 months of the current 2025-2026 financial year beginning 1 April.

“Myanmar’s annual honey production is 7,000 tonnes, and about 2,600 tonnes are exported. This FY, honey export has earned $1.479 million so far. As the beekeeping business is lucrative, the number of beekeepers has increased. At present, those engaged in beekeeping integrated with flower cultivation (agro-apiculture) have also grown,” said an official of the Apiculture Division under the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department. Myanmar’s honey is conveyed to Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, China and Saudi Arabia.
