PRESIDENT U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho hosted a reception and dinner to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary Union Day in the square of Nay Pyi Taw City Hall yesterday.
First, the President and the First Lady were cordially greeted by Vice President U Myint Swe and wife Daw Khin Thet Htay, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint and wife, Union Minister U Ohn Maung, Union Minister Nai Thet Lwin and wife, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Myo Aung and wife at the reception.
Today is the time when all the national brethren have been striving with a strong union spirit to obtain eternal peace and to achieve mutual understanding and trust without doubts and conflicts while taking the lessons in the past. The Union Peace Conference – 21st Century Panglong has been successfully held three times in order to obtain peace and national reconciliation and some agreements for building a democratic federal union have been reached. We have been undergoing the peace process in order to build a federal union all the national races have been craving for.
PRESIDENT U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho who were in Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State, accompanied by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Dr. Aung Thu and U Ohn Win, Chief Minister of Shan State Dr. Lin Htut, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo and officials, left the city by car and arrived in Hopong Township in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone.

He was accompanied by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Dr Aung Thu, U Ohn Win, U Win Khaing, U Ohn Maung, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo and officials.
PRESIDENT U Win Myint made a congratulatory speech at the ceremony to mark the 4th anniversary of Second Hluttaw, held at the dining hall of Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
MR FRANCOIS LAFRENIERE, the newly-accredited Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, presented his Letters of Credence to U Win Myint, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace, Nay Pyi Taw at 10:00 am yesterday.
Present on the occasion were U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation, and Director-General U Min Thein of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ref; The Global New Light of Myanmar
THE Independent Commission of Enquiry (ICOE) submitted its final report to President U Win Myint yesterday morning.
ICOE Chairperson Ambassador Rosario Manalo and fellow members were received by the President at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw whereupon she handed over the commission’s final report.
Also present at the meeting were Union Minister for Office of the State Counsellor U Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister for Office of the Union Government U Min Thu, ICOE members U Mya Thein, Ambassador Kenzo Oshima, and Prof Dr Aung Tun Thet.
A CEREMONY to mark the Myanmar-China 70th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and launching of Myanmar-China Bilateral Cultural and Tourism Year was held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening, with attendance by President U Win Myint, President of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Xi Jinping and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Naga New Year Festival – 2020 was held in the town of Lahe in the Naga Self-Administered Zone, Sagaing Region, at 9 a.m. yesterday. President U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho were present at the event. The Union Flag was first saluted, after which Naga ethnic resident U Mon Pi delivered the opening speech and Naga ethnic resident Daw Khaung explained the history of how the Naga New Year Festival came to be.
Next, President U Win Myint delivered his Message of Greetings for the Naga New Year – 2020.
