A ceremony to light 3,600 oil lamps dedicating to the Lord Buddha took place on the platform of Maravijaya Buddha Image on the evening of Thadingyut full moon yesterday. Organized by Nay Pyi Taw Council, Nay Pyi Taw Council chair U Than Tun Oo and wife, council members and officials together with pilgrims lit oil lights and released hot-air balloons. Significant monuments at the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Image were packed with pilgrims and people to enjoy ceremonies of offering oil lights and releasing hotair balloons.
