THE government has granted amnesty to 9,651 local prisoners and 114 foreign prisoners from Insein Prison in commemoration of the 76th Independence Day and on humanitarian grounds. Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Win Tint and Commander of Yangon Region Police Force Police Brig-Gen Myo Min Htike of Yangon Region Government delivered speeches to 2,497 inmates at the gymnasium of Insein Prison yesterday morning.
