AFTER anti-State rallies had incited on social media to participate in night protests, many groups of people gath-ered and participated in the night protests in some places on 12 March. A total of about 1,200 people from the respective directions of the Township Police Station in Thakayta Township violently gathered in front of the police station and attacked with slingshots, rocks and even throwing fire with bottles filled with gasoline to the police station around midnight of the day. When security forces fired warning shots to scare them away, the rioters were dispersed, and one man (still un-der investigation) was injured and have been under medical treatment at Tatmadaw hospital. At the end of the event, two injured men (still under investigation) who were back with the crowd was reportedly dead and an investigation is underway regarding the cause of death, according to the statement of the Myanmar Police Force.
