Security forces yesterday seized a large quantity of illicit drugs and drug-making equipment near Kawra village, Monghae (Lower) village-tract, Tachilek Township. The estimated value of the seizure is K20.2 billion.
During the inspection, authorities found two large sheds for drug processing, one shed used for cooking rice, and four residential sheds. Seized items included 6.9 million WY stimulant tablets, six bags of 20-kilogramme crushed stimulants, 15 bags of 20-kilogramme pink powder, 49 packs of 1-kilogramme Ice, 46 bags of caffeine, 16 steel trays, drug processing machines, 32 gas cylinders, a large generator, stamping equipment, Promethazine cough medicine, vinyl, food colour bottles, small plastic bags, and a Starlink Gen 3 unit.
The seized drugs and equipment are being examined by a multi-agency team and handed over to the relevant authorities. The structures used for drug processing are being destroyed in line with regulations. Clearance operations continue as authorities suspect the presence of other illegal drug facilities in the area.
