The 47th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters (ASOD) and related meetings were held in Thailand, focusing on regional cooperation in combating drug-related issues.

Delegates discussed drug prevention efforts, information sharing on emerging synthetic drugs, reviews of ASEAN drug control plans, and the use of AI and digital tools in awareness programmes.

Myanmar’s CCDAC delegation attended the meeting via videoconferencing and highlighted the need for stronger regional cooperation to address drug production, trafficking and use. The meetings will continue until 5 August.
