TATMADAW members, Myanmar Police Force personnel, foreign rescue teams, and volunteers are intensifying their coordinated efforts in rescue and rehabilitation operations in areas affected by the Mandalay earthquake.

Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) inspected debris clearance at religious sites in Sagaing, as well as ongoing maintenance work. He also inspected cleanliness activities at Sitagu Buddha University in Sagaing, and the renovation and reconstruction work of SunU Ponnyashin Pagoda on Sagaing Hill. He observed the use of machinery in damaged areas and the distribution of relief supplies to earthquake victims at the Myoma Gymnasium in Poetan Ward. He also provided energy drinks to volunteers.

Next, the Ministry of Health inspected cleaning and rebuilding efforts at monasteries and nunneries in Sagaing Township. Lt-Gen Thet Pon then inspected land clearing operations using heavy machinery in a village area, as part of plans to relocate some monasteries and nunneries that were destroyed on Sagaing Hill. He coordinated the necessary arrangements.

Similarly, Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), along with other officials, visited Shwekyetyet Pagoda in Amarapura Township, Mandalay, as well as Shwekyetkya Pagoda, NanOo Monastery, and Abya Yama Monastery in Upoketaw Ward, Aungmyaythazan Township. These sites were damaged by the earthquake. He inspected debris clearance work at the pagodas and other religious buildings and coordinated with relevant officials as needed.

Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) inspected earthquake-damaged monasteries, including Shwezedi Monastery and YwaU Monastery, as well as the reconstruction of affected buildings in Kyaukse Township.
