MYANMAR Trade Promotion Organization under the Ministry of Commerce will help seek the certificate from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) in order to export coconut hybrids to China.
Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization held the hybrid meeting of the project management committee for the Potential Product (Coconut) Value Chain project implemented under the ACEMES–ROK Cooperation Fund for the second time on 21 March 2024.
Attendees discussed matters regarding future work plans in order to prioritize the coconut and its based products in the lists of the micro small, and medium enterprises that will be implemented in Ayeyawady Region, including agriculture and livestock projects, ramp-up production of coconut hybrids and earning Good Agricultural Practices certificate issued by the Agriculture Department for the coconut and GACC certificate for coconut hybrid exports.
The Potential Product (coconut) Value Chain project that is implemented under the ACEMES-ROK Fund from May 2023 to April 2024 in Ayeyawady Region has been offering coconut handicraft training.
Experts will share practical approaches to manufacturing coconut value-added products, from disposable coconut shells to commercially valued coconut crafts, including choosing coconut shells, sketching, painting, decorating, finishing the products, and polishing and drying methods with the use of drilling machines. For designing, essential drawing arts will be offered as well. The trainees will learn how to make coconut-based shrine lamps, curtains, key chains, shell lights, and earrings.
The training will provide practical installation of shrine lamps and shell lights. They will earn the completion certificates.
The three-day coconut-based products expo and competition was held in Pathein from 22 to 24 January 2024.
