AMONG the parkgoers who visit Hlawga Park to enjoy the natural beauty around Yangon, the number of people who come to play stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is increasing, according to an interview with a park official.
More picnickers have chosen to play SUP, besides the nature of forests, trees and tranquillity at Hlawga Park.
It costs K18,500 per person to ride SUP, and it is available both on weekends and on weekdays, with more riders on the former.
“Stand-up Paddleboarding is available every day. No day off. There is a guide nearby. He will teach you how to paddle before you start. There are many riders. Especially on Saturdays and Sundays, it is more crowded than on weekdays,” said an official.
In SUP, a water sport originating from surfing in the Hawaii Islands, the rider stands up on a board and paddles. Some SUP Yoga practitioners combine paddle boarding with yoga practice.
As skilful trainers from the park will closely teach those who want to try it, even a beginner with no experience can enjoy SUP in Hlawga Park, it was announced.
