IN Tachilek, Shan State (East), drugs valued at over K1 billion were confiscated. A combined team of anti-narcotics police searched the home of Sai Swe Seng in Sekham Ward, Tachilek, Shan State (East) on 23 January. They discovered and seized 2 million pills worth K1.04 billion in the home, along with 23 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine), 75 kilogrammes of raw opium, and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado car.

According to the investigation, the confiscated stimulant pills and Ice (methamphetamine) were transported from Kunhing Township, Shan State (South), while raw opium was transported from Mongpyin Township to Tachilek Township.

Legal action has been initiated against the perpetrators, and an investigation is underway to identify others involved in the chain of crimes.
