THE documentary TV series ‘Marching on the Main Road’ was introduced in a launch ceremony held at Rosewood Hotel, Yangon, at 2 pm yesterday.
Firstly, Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint met with Mr Xu Lin, Minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIOC), at the guest hall of Rosewood Hotel and discussed matters related to information of both countries.
Next, the Union Minister and the SCIOC Minister attended the launch ceremony of ‘Marching on the Main Road’.

People are offered a selection of reading materials from more than a million books on sale at low discount prices at the event from 10 to 20 January.

Naga New Year Festival – 2020 was held in the town of Lahe in the Naga Self-Administered Zone, Sagaing Region, at 9 a.m. yesterday. President U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho were present at the event. The Union Flag was first saluted, after which Naga ethnic resident U Mon Pi delivered the opening speech and Naga ethnic resident Daw Khaung explained the history of how the Naga New Year Festival came to be.
Next, President U Win Myint delivered his Message of Greetings for the Naga New Year – 2020.

During the meeting, they discussed measures related to strengthening democratic system in Myanmar, internal peace, organizing free and fair elections, assistance in capacity building for political parties, women and youth and their more active participations in politics.

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) Commander-in-chief General Vong Pisen at the Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday with a Guard of Honour.
After taking salutes of the Guard of Honour, they inspected it before bilateral introduction of senior military officials from both sides.
The Cambodian General signed the visitors’ book of the Zeyathiri Beikman and held discussions with the Senior General at the meeting hall.

PRESIDENT U Win Myint met with Hluttaw representatives, departmental officials, heads of local tribes, town elders and civil communities in Leshi and Lahe townships in Sagaing Region yesterday. His entourage included Union Ministers Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Dr Myo Thein Gyi, Dr Myint Htwe, U Han Zaw, Nai Thet Lwin, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo and officials.
They left Nay Pyi Taw by a special military flight at 7:30 am, and arrived at Homalin Airport in Sagaing Region.

UNION ATTORNEY General U Tun Tun Oo received UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, they discussed Myanmar’s enactment of Child Rights Law on 23 July 2019 and enforcement of this law, educative programmes for this law, cooperation with UN agencies in rule of laws and justice projects and collaboration in the Country Tasks Force on Monitoring and Reporting.
