FALSE news and misinformation are circulating on social media, falsely claiming that the rector of Mawlamyine University issued a ban on faculty members from leaving the university premises. According to these inaccurate reports, an emergency meeting held on 16 November allegedly resulted in this restriction, as faculty members had relocated to be closer to their relatives due to concerns arising from a terrorist attack on Loikaw University in Kayah State, which led to the arrest of the rector and faculty members.
