TAKING advantage of the current political situation in Myanmar, the local and foreign media that accompany some countries wishing to disintegrate Myanmar are inciting bloodshed in various ways to divide the people who want to live in peace and the Tatmadaw, to spread hatred and to escalate the conflict. In such doing, they provided fake news about the casualties of security forces in order to inspire and motivate terrorists and their supporters. They often broadcast misinformation and fabricate these news items on social media in the guise of Tatmadaw torturing and killing innocent people, to tarnish the image of the security forces and mislead the public. This is not just an ordinary act, but a conspiracy of spending a huge amount of money and providing technical support to spreading misinformation across social media in synchronization domestically and internationally.

IT is observed that Mr Abdou Abarry, Permanent Representative of Niger and President of the United Nations Security Council issued a Security Council Press Statement on Myanmar and that Ms Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Thomas Andrews, UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Myanmar and Mr Stephane Dujarric, Spokes- person for the United Nations Secretary-General respectively issued statements on the verdicts passed against some individuals by the Special Court of Zabuthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Area on 6 December 2021.

THE combined security forces conducted a patrol at the corner of 30th and 63rd streets in Pyigyimyathman Ward of Chanayethazan Township on 8 December. During the patrol, they examined Khine Zin Zuu and seized pamphlets and one cloth bearing letters for ‘Silent Strike’. Then, they raided her house in Pyigyimyathman Ward of Chanayethazan Township and seized 100 homemade mines, 33 gunpowder cords, 30 shields, three bullet-proof vests, one Bakatha flag with peacock logo, various kinds of medicines and other materials used in protests.
