TO contribute to land improvement works performed to restore the livelihoods of farmers in Rakhine State which were destroyed by a very severe Cyclone Mocha, the Agricultural Mechanization Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) sent out 33 (50 horse-powered) New Holland tractors, 33 six-share ploughs, and 33 blade ploughs to Rakhine State by vessel. Equipment was loaded onto the respective vessel from the Bo Aung Kyaw Port in Yangon yesterday afternoon.

THE relief materials and food items contributed by the families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers and relief supplies provided by the National Disaster Management Committee for local communities affected by the natural disaster in Rakhine State are being transported by Tatmadaw aircraft, helicopters and vessels.

TO provide necessary assistance to cyclone-affected people in Sittway of Rakhine State where loss and damage were suffered by Mocha, a 29-metre landing craft of Tatmadaw Navy brought 3,000 CI sheets, 52 bundles of tarpaulins, 50 tarpaulin sheets, 216 boxes of nails, 16 tarpaulin tents, 6,000 eggs, 184 packs of instant noodles, 3,450 toothbrushes and 18,000 toothpaste tubes, 50 empty water bottles,450 toilet bowls and 450 pipes, 5,000 oral rehydration salt sachets and construction tools totalling 55 tonnes from three vessels of MV Aquarius, MV Sunshine and MV Fortune at Essar port of Sittway and left for a docking place in Pauktaw Township yesterday.
