AT the official invitation of Mr Mohammad Bagher Galibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, a Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe left Mandalay by air for Islamic Republic of Iran on the morning of 28 July 2024 to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony of Mr Masoud Pezeshkian, the new Elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran which will be held in Tehran.

THE Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture released a statement that arrangements are being made to restore 91 ancient lakes in the cultural area of Bagan. So far, 22 lakes have been restored, and work on seven more is ongoing.

MYANMAR successfully hosted the Fourth BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw. National Security Chiefs from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, along with the BIMSTEC Secretary-General and their spouses, departed Nay Pyi Taw for Yangon by flight yesterday.

THE value of Myanmar’s foreign trade totalled over US$8.3 billion over the past three and a half months of the current financial year 2024- 2025 beginning 1 April, comprising exports worth $4.4 billion and imports valued at $3.9 billion, the Ministry of Commerce’s data showed.
