Local airlines resumed their domestic flights yesterday in line with the healthcare guidelines after the suspension of their operations to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The Myanmar National Airlines flew its flights from Yangon to Loikaw-Heho-Kengtung route and the Air KBZ from Yangon to Myeik, Sittway and Tachilek townships.

Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi launched online celebrations to mark the 15th anniversary of West Yangon Technological University yesterday morning. At the ceremony, after wishing the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the university, he said the university has been providing human resource development to 12,330 B.Tech graduates, 11,545 BE/B.Arch graduates and 619 ME/M.Arch from 2005 to date.

A relief flight of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) organized by the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul landed at Yangon International Airport bringing back a total of 89 Myanmar nationals after they were stranded in the Republic of Korea due to the suspension of international flights yesterday evening. Among them, 71 people were from the Republic of Korea, 2 from Switzerland, 4 from Indonesia, 1 from South Africa, 2 from Belgium, 5 from Qatar, 1 from Canada and 5 from the USA.

COVID-19 will be detected in two locations for domestic flight passengers starting from 15 December, according to the Yangon Region Public Health and Medical Services Department. These two locations are Tourist Burma building in Kyauktada township and the health station in Aung Mingalar Bus Terminal. The COVID-19 will be tested in these two locations to promote the tourism sector. The charges of the COVID-19 testing will be set as fairer as possible.
