MYANMAR has to make prepa­ration to be readiness to give ser­vices as good opportunity comes out for penetrating into the Rus­sian tourism market, said Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung in meeting with of­ficials of Directorate of Hotels and Tourism from Mandalay Region and PyinOoLwin township and the PwinOoLwin hotel zone chair­man and executives on 23 July.

Arrangements are being made to conduct the Russian language course in Yangon in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, adding local authori­ties, private sector and local peo­ple are to cooperate with each other in successfully holding the Russian language course for hotels and tourism services in PyinOoLwin to be conducted by the Defence Services Academy.

The Union Minister also met with senior military officers from Defence Services Academy and PyinOoLwin hotel zone to discuss opening of Russian lan­guage course in the township.

In meeting with PyinOoL­win Township Administration Body and officials of PyinOoL­win hotel zone at Nan Htaik Thu Hotel, the Union Minister urged officials to cooperate with hotels and tourism organizations to im­plement the running of steam locomotive train trip.

While in Mandalay, the Un­ion minister held talks with fac­ulty members from Mandalay University of Foreign Languages and Mandalar University about conducting the Russian lan­guage course in Mandalay.

In meeting with Mandalay Region Economic Minister U Thein Htay and officials, the Un­ion minister stressed the need to prevent new variants of Covid-19 and abide by health and safety protocols issued by the minis­try, urging officials of hotels and lodges to follow the implementa­tion of Guest List Management System (GLMS).
