CHAIRMAN of Palaung Self-Administered Zone Tar Thein Zaw, Chairman of Kokang Self-Administered Zone U Myint Swe, and Chairman of Wa Self-Administered Division U Nyi Nap visited the Diamond Jubilee Museum of Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) yesterday morning.

They also observed the broadcasting process of the MRTV and the Diamond Jubilee Museum in Tatkon in Nay Pyi Taw.

First, the chairmen of the self-administered regions were welcomed by MRTV Director-General U Ye Naing and officials. During their visit, officials explained the department’s broadcasting activities and ethnic TV broadcasting.

They looked around Convergence News Room, News Control Room, News Studio Room, 40 galleries featuring equipment and materials used in the TV broadcasts on display at the Diamond Museum of MRTV, live broadcast vehicles, reporting formats, documentary photos of the participants in the series that have been broadcast for generations, musical instruments, news studi os, antique records and other accessories used in the radio programmes.

Relevant officials replied to their queries during the visit.

Next, the MRTV Director-General presented MRTV DTH satellites plus accessories to the self-administered region chairpersons.

The chairmen also presented cash and foodstuffs to the respective ethnic nationalities working for the ethnic television channels.

The MRTV broadcasts MRTV-NRC channel in Kachin, Kayah, Sagaw Kayin, Western Poe Kayin, Eastern Poe Kayin, Chin (Laizoe), Chin (Kyoe), Mon, Rakhine, Shan, and Wa ethnic languages.

In turn, the Myanma Radio station broadcasts with 17 ethnic languages featuring different programmes.
