YANGON Mayor U Bo Htay, in his capacity as chairperson of the Yangon City Development Committee, accompanied by vice-mayor U Nyi Nyi, vice-chair of the YCDC, secretary U Nyunt Pe and committee members, observed mobile market trucks in the compound of Kanbe YCDC Housing on Hninsi Street, Ward 8, Yankin Township at 6:30 am on 15 February.

He ensured the consumers can buy the commodities at fairer prices. He instructed relevant officials to make sure the accuracy of the measurement system and to have fresh meat and vegetable. He also added that those vendors and consumers must wear facial masks as COVID-19 preventive measures following the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

Afterwards, the team led by the mayor left for Mingala Lake in the corner of Shukhintha Road and Zingama Road in Thakayta Township. They observed the sanitation and wastewater management activities in the Lake and repairs of the brick ladder to the Lake to collect water and yard for cane ball sporting activity.

He directed them to dredge a drainage ditch on Zingama Road with an excavator.

Later, the mayor inspected the sanitation and drainage cleaning activities on Shukhintha Road, cutting weeds, trimming lawns, land treatment and sanitation at the No. 4 playground in Thakayta, with 100 YCDC staff. He also instructed them to fulfil the needs during the maintenance of the triangular traffic island at the junction of Gyophyu and Kungyan street in Mingala Taungnyunt Township.
