ETHNIC cultural troupes from regions and states who will present traditional performances at the Diamond Jubilee Union Day celebrations visited prominent landmarks in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

During their visit in Nay Pyi Taw, the cultural dance groups visited the National Landmarks Garden, Defence Services Museum, Zoological Garden, Planetarium, National Museum, and the preparation to build Maravijaya Buddha Image.

Naw Kyu Kyu Than, leader of the Kayin Cultural Troupe, said, “The troupe members are happy to be on this study tour. By visiting the National Museum, we have the opportunity to learn more about the culture and heritage of our people.”

It is leant that there are 33 delegate members from Kachin State, 28 from Kayah State, 40 from Kayin State, 37 from Chin State, 34 from Mon State and 35 from Rakhine State in the cultural troupes. As for the second-day of the study tour, they will visit Uppatasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw Budh Gaya, Water Fountain Park, Gems Museum, Hluttaw Building and Junction Centre.
