TATMADAW columns have recaptured Boatkan Village in Tamu Township, which had been under the temporary control of terrorist insurgents, as part of ongoing operations to reopen the Kalay-Tamu Road.

The military announced that coordinated counterterrorism and security operations had enabled advancing columns from both Tamu and Kalay to reclaim a string of towns and villages along the strategic route. After retaking New Htinzin and Old Htinzin on 26 July, troops secured Boatkan Village yesterday.

Operations are continuing to fully reopen the Kalay-Tamu Road and restore security in the area. Authorities said efforts were also underway to repair homes, public buildings and infrastructure damaged by attacks, clear landmines, and support the restoration of education, healthcare and other public services in cooperation with relevant agencies and residents.
