Yangon-based Russian Federation Embassy hosted a reception to mark the National Day of the Russian Federation at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening, attended by Vice-President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nan Ni Ni Aye.
The Vice-President and distinguished guests were welcomed by Charge d’Affaires ad interim Ms Natalia Nefedova of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, the Military Attaché and officials.
The ceremony was opened with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federation. Charge d’Affaires ad interim Ms Natalia Nefedova of the Russian Embassy extended greetings.
A video clip on the cultural heritage, achievements in the science sector, economic development, and international affairs sector of the Russian Federation was screened.
The Vice-President had dinner along with the guests. During the dinner, the cultural troupes from the Russian Federation performed traditional cultural dances and songs.
After the dinner, the Vice-President had documentary photos taken together with the distinguished guests.
Also present at the reception were Union Ministers U Than Maung and his wife, and Dr Maung Thin, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) Lt-Gen Ko Ko Oo, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of the Yangon Command and his wife, Deputy Minister Dr Nay Chi Lae Lae Thein, Yangon City Development Committee Chairman Mayor U Myo Myint Aung, Ambassadors and Charges d’Affaires ad interim from foreign embassies in Yangon, Military Attachés and guests.
