The Ministry of Information initiated a nationwide public awareness campaign for the 2025 multiparty democratic election by cooperating with the Nay Pyi Taw Council, the region and state governments.
Yesterday, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presided over a campaign together with the artistes, including singers and the band of MRTV, at the city hall of PyinOoLwin in Mandalay Region.
At the event, the staff of IPRD distributed election pamphlets to the departmental staff, town elders, social welfare organizations, students and locals of PyinOoLwin district and townships.
Speaking at the occasion, the Union minister said the locals of PyinOoLwin will know more about the important role of stability, peace and rule of law for the development of the region regarding certain issues, and the voters should voluntarily cast votes for those who can make efforts for the region in the coming multiparty democracy election to be held on 28 December.
He handed over 30 MRTV DTH receivers and 20 DVB-T2 set-top boxes to the PyinOoLwin District administrator for the district.
Artistes, students and singers performed, and the staff, students and locals happily participated in it.
Mandalay Region government and PyinOoLwin District administrative officials presented cash prizes to the artistes.
The Union minister and party visited the National Kandawgyi Gardens in the same morning. The PyinOoLwin botanical garden stretches 436.36 acres, including over 70 acres of water, and it boasts natural trees, flora, resident flower species, Petrified Wood Museum, bridges along a mud forest, natural bird garden and butterfly museum.
The flower festival is held in the cold season yearly, and this year, the 18th flower festival is being held from 4 December 2025 to 6 January 2026. The festival features music concerts, and there are about 40,000 visitors on weekends and public holidays. MNA/KTZH
