THE ceremony commemorating the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s National Day, and Thailand’s Father’s Day was held yesterday evening at the Thai ambassador’s residence in Yangon. State Security and Peace Commission Member and Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the national anthems of Thailand and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, followed by a speech delivered by the Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar.

Afterwards, the Union minister and his wife, the Thai ambassador and his wife, posed for a group photo with other attendees. Guests then enjoyed performances by the Thai cultural troupe.

The ceremony was also attended by State Security and Peace Commission Member and Union Minister for Border Affairs and for Ethnic Affairs LtGen Yar Pyae and his wife, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Wah Wah Maung, Central Bank of Myanmar Governor Daw Than Than Swe, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, diplomats, chargés d’affaires, military attachés, UN Resident Representatives, and other guests.
