The Union Election Commission organized a coordination meeting on successful holding of elections, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

UEC Chair U Than Soe reviewed on the processes of the 2020 general election, and measures taken to enable voters across the country to cast their ballots accurately and easily through the use of voting machines in the upcoming election, while preventing electoral fraud.

He stated that by using the machines, voting could be carried out quickly and conveniently, and voters would have full confidence and transparency as they could directly see their own votes, and there would be no invalid votes. He added that the MEVM voting machines had already been tested for compliance with the Myanmar National Standard MMS 63:2025 for electronic voting machines and had been granted both the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and the Myanmar Standards Mark (MMS Standard Mark).

He then mentioned the demonstration and educating programmes regarding the voting machines in different regions and states, the move plan in different phases of the election, effective use of the funds and systematic supervision during the election period.
