Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.

On 1, 2, 3 and 5 November, the combined teams impounded consumer goods and electronic things worth K211.744 million without official documents in Kangyigon Village of Sagaing Township, industrial materials and foodstuff worth K5.145 million without official documents at the Yadanabon Bridge combined checkpoint, illegal teaks, hardwoods and other timbers worth K20.103 million with a Mitsubishi canter truck in Patheingyi, Pyawbwe, Amarapura, Pyigyidagun and Kyaukse townships. The action was conducted under the Forest Law and the Export/Import Law.

On 3 and 4 November, the combined on-duty teams seized illegal teaks, hardwoods and other timbers worth K1,546,440 in Kawhmu and Insein townships, two unregistered vehicles and five unregistered motorbikes worth K12.89 million in Insein, Htantabin, Dawbon, Mingala Taungnyunt, Pazundaung and Thakayta townships. The action was taken under the Forest Law and the Export/Import Law.

On 6 and 7 November, the combined teams confiscated illegal teaks worth K474,600 in Myanaung township, industrial materials wroth K14.095 million without official documents from Kinglong bus (approximately 40 million) without official documents in Phayagyi, a ship (estimated value of K530 million) which was docked at the Mottama Port (Hlainethaya) in Yangon from Kawthoung to Yangon carrying industrial materials and industrial materials worth K784.959 million without official documents. The action was taken under Customs procedures.

The Steering Committee reported 43 arrests from 1 to 7 November, seizing illegal goods worth approximately K1.68 billion.
