The Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) provided a total of K218.4 million in recovery cash assistance to 546 households in several villages of Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State (South), which were affected by the Mandalay earthquake, according to the MRCS headquarters.
The assistance covered 123 households in Nyaungwun Village, 135 in Thaleoo Inn Village, 99 in Mongthauk Inn Village, 187 in Inn Pawkhon Village, and two in Nandawun Village.

Each household received K400,000 in recovery cash support.

The Myanmar Red Cross Society carried out this financial assistance programme with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Trained Red Cross volunteers and staff conducted field visits to the affected villages and carried out detailed household assessments in line with MRCS standards and procedures before providing the aid.
