A meeting between Union ministers of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and a delegation led by Mr Andrey Travnikov, Governor of Novosibirsk Oblast, Russian Federation, was held yesterday at the Jasmine Naypyitaw Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, they cordially and openly exchanged views on matters concerning the expansion of bilateral air travel routes to develop tourism between Myanmar and Russia, cooperation between airlines, facilitating tourist visits between the two countries; continuous participation in annual tourism forums and exhibitions held in Russia, implementing the points of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral tourism cooperation, bilateral cooperation in the food and culinary sector, signing an agreement on the establishment and implementation of a Myanmar-Russia Culture and Information Centre, signing Myanmar and Russia hold talks to strengthen tourism and cultural ties a cooperation agreement between the two national libraries, and implementing the MoU on cooperation in the bilateral culture and arts sector.

Following the discussions, the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture presented a commemorative gift, which was received by the Governor of Novosibirsk Oblast.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Deputy Ministers U Ko Ko Kyaw, Daw Nu Mra Zan and U Phyo Zaw Soe, as well as other officials from relevant ministries.
