THE final matches and award ceremony of the bullock cart competition and bovine beauty pageant marking the 55th Tatkon Maha Kathina ceremony took place at Tatkon Myoma stadium yesterday.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, council members, departmental officials, contestants and locals attended the event.

After the final matches, the Union minister and party gave the trophy, cash prizes and certificates of honour to the first, second, third and special prize-winning teams, respectively.

The competitions were held from 1 to 3 November with 28 carts. The first bullock cart competition was initiated during the 54th Tatkon Maha Kathina ceremony, and this year marks the second event.
