A Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation between China and Myanmar was signed on 27 October, the Union of Myanmar Travel Association said.

The UMTA signed the MoU with the Dehong Prefecture’s travel association at the sixth China-Myanmar Think Tank Forum held in Mangshi, the People’s Republic of China, on 22 October. The UMTA delegation, comprised of U Kyaw Myo Htike (chairman of Mandalay zone), U Thein Htwe (chairman of Nay Pyi Taw zone) and U Aung Kyaw Thein (vice chairman of Mandalay zone), attended the signing ceremony.

This MoU aims to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector and continue implementing more effective cooperation in different segments of the industry in the future, according to the UMTA.
