A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, currently in China to attend 2025 International Forum on Energy Transition and study wind power, visited Nanjing and Suzhou, China, on 22-23 October.

On 22 October, the Union minister-led delegation visited the power generation and control centre of China Huaneng Group in Nanjing to observe power generation processes of offshore wind power station, control system of solar power without affecting the stability of electricity and operation system of plants from the control centre.

The delegation visited the biomass fuel briquette factory operated by Jingyu Deep-green Energy Co Ltd. The officials explained the production process of biochar and wooden fuel briquettes, which are made from discarded organic materials such as branches, bamboo, coconut shells, corn stalks, and palm shells, that can be reused in industrial operations. With the arrangement of the forum organizing committee, the Union minister and party visited the Xiangcheng EDZ Energy Centre in Suzhou on 23 October, and they studied energy management systems, dual thermal storage, and multi-energy complementarity technologies installed in the buildings. They also observed implementations of AI-enabled smart energy technology, energy-saving and carbon-reduction systems, and AI-based control systems, which are being carried out in line with the national energy policy.

On 23 October, the delegation attended the Large Power Grid Security Risk Prevention and Control Technical, a sub-forum of the International Forum on Energy Transition 2025, jointly organized by the National Energy Administration of China and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Speaking at the event, Union Minister U Nyan Tun stated that Myanmar, being rich in renewable energy potential, is making the best efforts to increase the utilization of solar, wind, and hydropower energy. The renewable energy, clean fuels, and nuclear energy will play a fundamental role in maintaining the stability of the energy system. He also noted that Myanmar has been continuously implementing renewable energy development projects, and that no single country alone can accomplish such a massive energy transition. International cooperation, sharing of ideas, technologies, and experiences can achieve common goals more effectively.
