UNION Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and for Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, met with officials and hoteliers from the Myanmar Hoteliers Association (PyinOoLwin Zone) yesterday morning at Shwe Nan Htike Hotel in PyinOoLwin.
During the meeting, the Union minister highlighted that PyinOoLwin is a well-known hill resort in Myanmar. Its cool climate, blooming gardens, scenic natural beauty, historic pagodas, and local food and souvenirs make it a unique tourist destination. He emphasized that the region has great potential for ecotourism, cultural tourism, religious tourism, art and education tourism, leisure tourism, sports tourism, adventure tourism, health and wellness tourism, heritage tourism, and agro-tourism. The Union minister stressed the importance of leveraging these strengths to benefit the tourism industry and offered solutions based on entrepreneurs’ business presentations.
He then visited Hotel Akimomi and Shwe Nan Htike Hotel in PyinOoLwin to review their operations and offer recommendations on business improvements.
Afterwards, Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, along with officials, visited the PyinOoLwin District Stadium and the gymnasium. They discussed with local officials ways to further develop sports in the region and nurture a new generation of athletes.
They also met with temporarily displaced employees and residents, providing them with essential supplies to improve their living conditions, transportation, and access to food.
