Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, yesterday morning inspected local security measures in the area of the Coastal Region Command and met families of the station.
At the Coastal Region Command Headquarters, the Senior General heard reports by Commander Maj-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Han on efforts taken to ensure local security measures, peace and stability in the command area, formation of people’s security forces, plans to take security measures to successfully hold the election, and welfare measures for Tatmadaw families.
The Senior General stressed the need to effectively take local security measures in addition to prevailing peace and stability in the area, placing emphasis on security along the coastal region and water territory of the State, and undertaking effective measures in all operations.
At Taing Yan Aung hall, the Senior General met Tatmadaw members and families from Myeik Station. It was also attended by his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that Tatmadaw is primarily responsible for serving the defence duties of the State to protect the life and property of the people, natural resources of the nation and safeguarding Our Three Main National Causes.
He continued that individual Tatmadaw members have to continuously carry out their daily tasks in order to ensure health and fitness while carrying out daily routines.
He underlined that Tatmadaw members must have skills of comprehensively using their arms with confidence over their arms.
The Senior General highlighted that all Tatmadaw members need to follow four military building processes, such as training, administration, welfare, and improvement of morality.
He urged all to nurture their children to become educated citizens while raising their self-improvement of knowledge by reading books and publications. The Senior General gave guidance that everyone must maintain and improve themselves, and with the qualities of a good soldier, strive to work for the good of the State and Tatmadaw, and that all should collectively make efforts to uphold the good name of Tatmadaw.
The Senior General presented foodstuffs for Tatmadaw members and families of the station to the commander, while the wife of the Senior General gave financial aid for the station’s maternal and child welfare association through the wife of the commander.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and his wife cordially greeted Tatmadaw members and the families of the station.
At the local Tatmadaw hospital, the Senior General individually comforted Tatmadaw members and asked about their injuries sustained in serving defence and security duties of the State. He fulfilled the requirements of those Tatmadaw member patients. The Senior General also attended to the needs of the hospital.
The wife of the Senior General also comforted families of Tatmadaw members receiving medical treatments at the hospital and presented foodstuffs.
The Senior General and party inspected the station in a motorcade.
