Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in the People’s Republic of China on his working visit, held talks with Prime Minister of India Mr Shri Narendra Modi at Wanda Vista Hotel in Tianjin at 5 pm Chinese standard time yesterday.

The Indian Prime Minister cordially greeted the Senior General and then held a meeting.

At the meeting, they exchanged views on measures to ensure peace and stability in border region of both countries, trade promotion, enhancement of friendship and cooperation between two governments of both countries and promotion of cooperation between the two armed forces, support of India to successfully hold the eleciton in Myanmar, plans of sending electoral observation teams to Myanmar, support of India for Myanmar’s SCO entry, and further promotion of cooperation in all sectors.

Also, present at the meeting were Commission Secretary and Joint Executie Chief General Ye Win Oo, members of the high-level Myanmar delegation, Union ministers, the Myanmar Ambassador to China and senior Tatmadaw officers. The Indian Prime Minister was accompanied by officials from the Indian government.
