CIRDAP Director-General Mr Chandra Shekara Putte Gowda, who is in Myanmar to attend the 40th Technical Committee Meeting of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), together with U Thein Lwin, Director-General of the Department of Rural Development, and officials, visited Kayin Seik Sanpya Village in Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region, on the morning of 28 August.
They met members of the Modern Sanpya Village Project, the Rural Business Fund (RBF), and the Village Development Project (VDP) committees. During the meeting, the CIRDAP Director-General asked committee members about their individual activities and offered suggestions for ensuring the success of the projects, while also clarifying the activities being carried out by the CIRDAP Centre.
Afterwards, the CIRDAP director-general, U Thein Lwin, and officials visited the University of Co-operatives and Management, Thanlyin, where they watched dance performances by students. The students performed the songs “Mya Sein Yaung Hlwan Aye Chan Saemyi Myanmar Pyay”, “Letpanpwint Kouk Ayouk Lamae”, and “Na Pan San”.
Next, Rector Dr Yi Yi Win extended greetings, followed by an address from the CIRDAP Director-General, and the rector also presented souvenirs.
