The opening ceremony of Future Front Myanmar: Youth Strategy Forum 2025 took place at the Myanmar Convention Centre in Yangon yesterday.

Union Minister for Ministry 1 of the President’s Office U Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also Chairman of Leading Organization Committee for Future Front Myanmar: Youth Strategy Forum 2025, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, who is also vice-chair of committee, deputy minister U Zin Min Htet, regional and state ministers, foreign ambassadors, Myanmar Narrative Think Tank chairman U Ko Ko and members, departmental officials, youths and students attended the forum.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated with the “Strength of Youth” song performance, followed by a screening of a documentary video clip titled “From youth power to continuous progress towards sustainable goals”.

In his speech, Union Minister U Tin Aung San appreciated the essence of the forum, saying the youths are a reliable human resource in a society. No matter what the eras or systems, the young generations should be sharp in their thinking, experience, ability and talents. Therefore, the government is paving the way to improve the opportunities and capacity of the youth.

Today’s youths are human resources in building and shaping a future nation, and also future leaders of the country. As the government believes that the entire youth are the future of the country, it drafts the youth policies and youth development plans in accordance with the era. It also finds solutions to lead the youth’s lost future to the right pathway, and creates chances to promote the lives of the youth. Only when the youth are strong in spirit and thought, talented and honest, will they be able to build the nation towards progress and prosperity.

He highlighted the role of youths in this digital era, emphasizing the stance of the government, “investments for the youths are the best investment for the future of the country”, and talked about the measures to ensure the five essential strengths and trainings to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills for their lives, in addition to the country and people.

He also urged the attendees to place special emphasis on the forum in which the experts will discuss certain topics, such as the geopolitical and multipolar, changing world and the Myanmar geopolitical issue and economy.

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said foreign experts Mr Atul Aneja and Mr Lorenzo Maria Pacini will discuss the understanding of the global geological landscape, changing globe and Myanmar geopolitical issue, Myanmar and geo-economics strategy and other matters.

He added that the forum will bring six outcomes-training about 400 youths in strategic thinking and global awareness, presentation of own ideas, thoughts and plans by the youths through the discussions with experts at the forum, release of Youth Declaration for Myanmar 2040 via collective leadership and cooperation, youth network through engagement of youths, continuing to conduct advanced leadership courses and awareness programmes improving the capacity of the youth can be enhanced, and active participation in the upcoming election.

The region chief minister also made an opening speech, and the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee performed the “Rays of Future” song.

The forum will take place for three days from 30 August to 1 September.
