Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe delivered speeches respectively at the meeting with officers and staff who will serve duties at the Myanmar Embassy, permanent representative offices, and consulates in foreign countries yesterday.

In his speech, the Union minister highlighted the key requirements of every diplomat: to show loyalty to the country, uphold the Three National Causes, serve duties with dedication to their own lives and perform with proper reasoning skills together with the qualification and ability of a diplomat.

He also stated that a diplomat must be a good listener to learn properly and apply effectively, and emphasized the need to have English language fluency and learn the languages of the countries where they serve duties.

He added that the diplomats should have problem-solving skills, think of better ways to solve the problems, and avoid mutually harmful cases.

The Union minister also urged them to be perfect diplomats through continuous learning, to keep promoting their capacities and serve duties successfully.
