Myanmar delegation led by National Security Adviser, Union Minister at the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office Ministry 1 Admiral Moe Aung, attended the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues held in Moscow of Russian Federation from 27 to 29 May.

The representatives from 105 countries and 15 international organizations attended the meeting in which Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin made a speech via video message, Russian National Security Council Secretary Mr Sergei Shoigu and Russian Foreign Minister Mr Sergey Lavrov made remarks respectively.

At the meeting, the Union Minister participated in the meeting under the topic of “Challenges and opportunities for Global South and Global East”, and participated in the “Information security and international cooperation” sector.

The Union Minister attended the Fifth ASEAN-Russia Consultations of the High Representatives for Security Issues, and co-chaired together with Mr Sergei Shoigu, Security Council Secretary of the Russian Federation.

The Union minister and delegations of SAEAN member states discussed cooperation in security affairs of the Asia-Pacific regions, information exchange and potential responses to traditional and non-traditional security threats.

The Union minister and party laid a wreath at the National Victory Museum and attended the scientific seminar focusing on global security issues.

The Union minister received delegations led by Russian President’s Advisor Mr Nikolay Patrushev, Russian Security Council Secretary Mr Sergei Shoigu, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Mr Sholban Valerievich Kara-ool and Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Mr Alexy L Shevtsov, and discussed the bilateral cooperation, further cooperation, combating violence and cooperation on security affairs between Myanmar and Russia, which were already discussed by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin.

Moreover, he met Mr Chen Wengqing, a member of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, Political Bureau and chairman of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and discussed the bilateral cooperation and ongoing border security measures, which were already discussed by the SAC Chairman and Chinese President Xi Jingping.

He met Thai delegation leader, National Security Council Secretary Mr Chatchi Bangchaud and Cambodian leader Lt-Gen Ke Da.

Then, during the meeting with Belarusian National Security Council Secretary Mr Alexander Grigoyevich Volfovich, the Union minister discussed bilateral relationship, ongoing cooperation, implementation of the five-point roadmap of SAC, including rehabilitation processes after the quake, and preparations for holding free and fair elections, which were discussed by the SAC Chairman and Belarusian President Mr Lukashenko.
