The Amyotha Hluttaw held the 14th day of its second regular session in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, during which lawmakers questioned the government on infrastructure, post-conflict rehabilitation and humanitarian assistance, while several MPs backed a proposal calling for stronger tax administration and tougher anti-corruption measures. The session was attended by 205 of the 209 eligible MPs.

Union Minister for Sports U Ye Myint Tun pledged to coordinate with Shan State to demand the budget in the nearest financial year to construct the gymnasium, depending on the land plot settlement.

AT the sixth-day event of the Amyotha Hluttaw yesterday, Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aye Kyaw replied to questions raised by U Tin Myo Zaw from the Magway Region Constituency 2 and Nang Woe Sein from the Shan State Constituency 12. He replied that as the allocated budget for providing electricity to Myinsaing Village of Magway Township is insufficient, only the construction of 3.51 miles of the 11 kV power line out of the total 5.2 miles of 11 kV power line, along with the installation of one 11/0.4 kV, 200 kVA transformer, can be included in the plan. The work, with an estimated cost of K496.351 million, will be implemented under the Regional Government Fund in the 2026-2027 financial year.
