The Ministry of Information held a ceremony to present educational support funds and stationery to the children of its staff for the 2025–2026 academic year, at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said such support is a sign of mental support, and also a spirit of unity and solidarity among the staff. In return for this goodwill, staff members should raise their children to become intelligent, ethical, and loyal citizens who contribute positively to the nation. He added that only through a strong education system and an educated generation can the country become healthy, resilient, developed, prosperous, and wealthy.

The Union minister provided educational support funds and stationery to the parents of students from the Minister’s Office, MRTV and the Department of Information and Public Relations, and Deputy Minister U Ye Tint to the parents of students from the Printing and Publishing Department, Media Development Department and News and Periodical Enterprises.

The ministry provided K5,000 and one dozen books to each of the primary students while K7,500 and one dozen books to middle school students, K10,000 and two dozen books to high school students and K15,000 and two dozen books to university students, amounting to K52,300,000. The support covered a total of 2,733 students: 1,348 primary students, 544 middle school students, 521 high school students and 320 university students.
