THE Myanmar Police Force announced the arrest of a drug-trafficking group in Minhla and Pyinmana Townships, which was involved in trafficking drugs, including over K16.2 billion worth of stimulant tablets, Ice (crystal methamphetamine), Ketamine and Happy Water.

A combined team from the Drug Enforcement Division searched an X-Trail driven by Pyae Phyo Kyaw, accompanied by Ma Zin Zin Wai (aka) Zin Zin Mar and a Surf driven by Yan Naing Htut, accompanied by Tin Latt, heading to Mindon from Minhla, near Shantae village on the Pathein-Monywa road in Minhla Township at 2:30 pm on 9 May. Police seized 2,180,000 stimulant tablets.

Following some interrogation, police arrested the drug traffickers, Ma Nan (aka) Myo Thiri Kyaw and Myo Zaw Aung with a Toyota Hilux Surf in Pyinmana Township and Aung Naing and Zaw Win with 7,617,800 stimulant tablets, five kilogrammes of Ice (Methamphetamine), one kilogramme of Ketamine and 2.915 kilogrammes of Happy Water in Pyinmana Township at 5:30 pm on 10 May.

Additionally, police arrested Tun Lin (aka) Shan Kalar with a motorbike near Nyaungkhashay village in Waw Township at 9:30 am on 11 May.

According to the investigation, Myo Zaw Aung and Ma Nan (aka) Myo Thiri Kyaw were responsible for transporting drugs from Shan State to Mindon Township through Pyin mana Township, along with Tin Latt (aka) Saw Tin Latt, Pyae Phyo (aka) Yan Naing Htut, and Ma Zin Zin Wai (aka) Zin Zin Mar.

Similarly, the drugs to be trafficked to Kayin State were kept in Aung Naing’s cattle farm in Myauklutkon village, Pyinmana Township. Action was taken against all of them, and further investigation is underway.
