The Dhamma paper-reading session marking the Full Moon Day of Kason, organized by the State Administration Council, was held yesterday afternoon at the Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman of the Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.

Rector Sayadaws of the State Pariyatti Sasana University in Yangon and Mandalay delivered the opening sermons.

Following the opening session, a series of Dhamma papers were presented. Professor and Head Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Therinda Bhivamsa from the Abhidhamma Pitaka Department of the State Pariyatti Sasana University (Yangon) read a paper entitled A Comparative Study of Eight Kinds of Great Prediction and the Life of Those Who receive predition.

Tutor Sayadaw Bhaddanta Candima from the Suttanta Pitaka Department of the State Pariyatti Sasana University (Mandalay) presented a paper titled A Comparative Study of Future Existence and the Tipitaka Texts. Head Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Parami from the Department of Foreign Language Studies and Translation of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University delivered a paper on An Analytical Study of the Buddha’s Enlightenment and the Law of Kamma.

Professor Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Indaka from the Sitagu International Vipassana Academy (Sagaing) presented a paper titled A Review of the Remarkable Events in the Last Ten Months of the Lord Buddha Based on the Mahaparinibbana Sutta. Audience members raised questions on the contents of the papers, to which the respective Sayadaws provided detailed explanations.

Afterwards, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin offered certificates of honour and cash for nine prerequisites to the chairing Sayadaws and resource person Sayadaws.
