A ceremony to organize the Dhamma Thabin ceremony marking the Buddha Day on the full moon of Kason 1387 ME was held at Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe and congregation took the Nine Precepts from State Ovadacariya Chair of Shwegyin Nikaya 16th Shwegyin Sangharaja Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies and Sitagu Hospitals Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru Abhidhaja Aggamaha Saddhammajotika Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara and respectfully listened to the Dhammakatha on the Buddha Day.

The Vice-Senior General donated cash for nine prerequisites for the Sayadaw through Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. The Sitagu Sayadaw presented a certificate of honour to the Vice-Senior General.

The Union Minister offered a certificate of honour to Sitagu Sayadaw who then delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits.

Also, present at the ceremony were the Council Secretary and his wife, council members and their wives, Union-level dignitaries, Union ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and deputy ministers.
